SACRAMENTO CROP HUNGER WALK

Join us for the annual Sacramento CROP Hunger Walk, Sunday, October 12th at 12:30 p.m. to gather and 1:00 p.m. to walk starting from the West Steps of the State Capitol.

10 K, 5 K, and 1 K events allow for all ages of walkers, joggers, runners, using strollers, wagons and wheelchairs. Dogs are also welcome.

The Sacramento CROP Hunger Walk is co-sponsored by the Interfaith Service Bureau, caring Sacramento residents and by Church World Service (CWS) which brings together 35 communions to work in 80 countries: www.churchworldservice.org

HOW DO CROP Hunger WALK FUNDS HELP LOCALLY?
Each “CROP” event committee selects local organizations serving the hunger needs of the local community to receive 25% of the money raised through the walk. The 2008 Sacramento recipients include: St. Matthew’s Food Closet, South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership Food Closet, River City Community Services, the Sacramento Food Bank and Opening Doors, Inc.

HOW DO CROP Hunger WALK FUNDS HELP GLOBALLY?

75% of the funds aid in the work of Church World Service to:
• Support sustainable self-help development projects
• Meet emergency needs
• Aid refugees
• Address the root causes of poverty and powerlessness.

Designations may be made by sponsors to other humanitarian agencies on envelope and on request.
